RKOSSIMPLE. POWERFUL. NATIVE.Download
YOUR FIRST STEPS

A small start.
A native program.

Install Arkos using the project’s setup guide, then write, build, and run your first program.

Set up your environment.

Follow the README for your operating system and compiler dependencies. Instructions can change as Arkos develops.

Open the installation guide →

Create main.ark.

Save the following example as main.ark.

// Hello from Arkos!
func main() {
    print("Simple. Powerful. Native.")
    print("Build something brighter.")
}

Turn source into an executable.

arkos build main.ark --release

On Linux, run ./main. On Windows, run .\main.exe from the output directory. The build tab above contains the same commands.

Shape the Interface.

Chizl is Arkos’s declarative native UI language. Interface files use .chzl. Chizl describes the interface, Arkos handles the application logic, and the toolchain produces a native application. Start with an example from your installed version, then build or run app.chzl:

arkos chizl build app.chzl
arkos chizl run app.chzl

Make it your own.

Change the messages, add a function, then explore the programs in the examples directory. Use the project documentation as the source of truth for your installed version.
